Notice requirements in PEI
Landlords must give written notice before a rent increase takes effect. In Prince Edward Island, the required notice period is 3 months. The increase can only take effect on the anniversary of your lease start date.
This calculator compares the amounts entered with the standard 2.1% cap. PEI's cap generally runs with the unit, including between tenants.
RentMinder does not decide whether an increase is valid or whether money is owed. Confirm the result with IRAC.
